Manchester Metropolitan University

Our 5 year ongoing contract with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) consists of passive fire safety works to their portfolio of buildings in and around the Manchester area.

These buildings include office accommodation, learning facilities and halls of residents.

Working from client fire risk assessments and in close partnership with MMU and their independent consultant from Warrington Fire we carry out surveys on various block buildings for all works reported on the fire risk assessments.

From this we carry out full detailed surveys and produce reports and assessments of remedial actions required to create a compliant fire rated solution.

This is discussed with both MMU and Warrington fire, once agreed a programme of works is created to accommodate the logistics of the university taking into consideration the movements of general public, teaching staff, and students.

In recent times this has proven quite challenging with the current COVID pandemic, to mitigate this we ensure our programme is flexible to accommodate the university making changes to their internal daily practices and movements.

We offer design solutions to the potential of passive fire breaches found within the portfolio to MMU and Warrington Fire utilising our in house qualification, experience and knowledge complemented by our preferred suppliers ensuring we gain engineered solutions where required.

All works and data is tagged and captured on our BORIS safety management system where bespoke reports are produced along with evidence of before and after pictures, material and installation method data and certification.
